**Mary Ellen Mark_Photographer**
One time when I was in Wildwood I saw Mary Ellen Mark. I think I had met her one time before, because I knew immediately that it was her. She had an entourage of assistants, and it is beautiful how her images look off the cuff. I've always loved her work. We talked briefly, because I know how I hate being bothered, especially by photographers, when I am working. She asked me if I had seen anything interesting, and I told her there were about a half a dozen "Jersey girls" walking down the boardwalk, and pointed the direction. I wonder if she found them, and felt like I did about them.
Going through all these old and images, some that I have not seen in years has pushed my emotional feelings to the surface. Nostalgia I guess. I find myself tearing up over nothing. I've always ran on emotion more than logic, so it's not unusual, just heightened. My 15 year old cat Critter hobbles across the floor to his bowl, and he is the cat version of my own gait making it to the coffee machine in the morning.
On a sweeter note, I started reading Rebecca Solnit's book on the photographer Edweard Muybridge. I am embarrassed that I did not fully understand, and still don't really, just how brilliant she is. I am grateful for David Hamrick to put us together for my book "Crazy from the Heat." A stroke of genius on his part.
**Happy Anniversary to Us**
Marci and I are celebrating our 6th wedding anniversary on the 22nd. I can't tell you how lucky I am to have met such a kind, beautiful, and smart woman. A woman who has seen at my worst, and has made me my best. I'm not joking when I tell you I fall in love with her more everyday. Happy Anniversary my life mate.
