August 2021
**Hello My Dear Friends**
It seems like the full moon came around quickly this month, and I find myself down to the wire to get a message out. Especially this month because the skies have been covered in clouds and I didn’t get to see the moon as much and think, I got six days till full so I better get to work. A friend of mine said I sounded a bit melancholy last month talking about the park, my love for it, and how it has changed for me personally. But change is a fact of life, and reminiscing is usually romantic, and the bad parts left out. I remember being at a Texas Monthly meeting several years ago, and a speaker was telling us that the population of Texas was going to double by 2025. I guess they were correct, and that is what we are feeling. Everyone that visits the gallery tells me their Texas town is exploding with new business and buildings. So it stands to reason this area is feeling that too. I think every one would like to close the door behind them when it comes to increase in population of their town or city. Big Bend is still, for me, the most amazing place, and I am very lucky to have found it. Every one that visits here regularly has their own bond to these mountains and landscapes, and I understand that.
**Rain**
The storms in the last month have been amazing. I haven’t seen it rain like this in a long time. I was coming out of the park last Thursday and the windshield wipers were useless, there was water flashing across the road in several places, and lightning crashing all around us. I kept going forward, but I was frightened. It sure felt like I was alive.
**My Next Book**
I am happy to say I have finally gone through every image for consideration for my next book. The next task is to edit about 75% of those out. It is a daunting task. But round number one is done. Both of my books, Big Bend Pictures and Crazy From The Heat are sold out, so I am anxious to get this new one to the publisher.
I am going to post a few sneak peek images, but these are just in the running, and could end up on the cutting room floor. These have been published before. People this month, I'll show you landscapes next month.
Thank you all for all the love and support you have given, and continue to give me. You all have affected my life more than you might know.
Happy Full Moon. Get Outside.
