Santa Elena Canyon Series
It is always a challenge to photograph a subject that everyone photographs. For this series I hired Desert Sports to take me down Santa Elena Canyon two days in a row. The first day was to scout, see how much water was in the river, and to understand my boatman. I laid in the raft and made images as we went through the canyon. The first day I only took a point and shoot camera just in case we went in the water. There were clouds too, so it wasn't the best sky. With a cloudless sky, as was the next day, you don't know if you are looking up or down. The following day I brought the serious equipment laid in the raft and made images as we went through the canyon. I have a series of 40 images that are beautiful. One side is the United States and one side is Mexico.
